How to Add Captions To Family Photos
You probably have a lot of old family photos and slides and you may remember who was in them, and when and where they were taken. If you want to share this knowledge with anyone else, Caption Pro is the way to do it. Once upon a time, you wrote on the back of the photo or underneath a slide. You can scan the original paper photos, automatically crop and straighten them (see video here), add captions which don’t obscure any of the original image and which can be edited after you’ve applied them (in case you discover that the photo is of your great aunt rather than your grandmother). If the photo already has information written on the back, you can scan that and then add it below the original image to preserve the original handwriting. Captions applied with Caption Pro are part of the new image and will be accessible for as long as the image can be viewed.
If you’ve already added caption information as file metadata, this can be used as source of caption data. Batch processing of multiple photos can make your work accessible to anyone looking at the photo.
Videos can have captions added either permanently or as subtitles, making who, when and where accessible to anyone viewing the video.
